The microblogging platform known as X, previously Twitter, experienced outages across multiple regions, including India, on Saturday. Users encountered errors when trying to load posts or videos on both the website and its mobile applications for iOS and Android devices. Many took to a popular downtime tracking site to share that X was unavailable.
The X developer platform had reported earlier in the week that a significant site-wide outage had been addressed, though some login-related processes were still facing performance issues.
Update (8:05pm): By 8pm on Saturday, the X.com website and mobile applications appeared to be operational again. Staff from Gadgets 360 confirmed they could access the service at the time of this update.
Widespread Issues Reported on X
Users began reporting problems around 6pm on Saturday via the downtime-tracking site Downdetector.com. At the time this article was published, there were approximately 25,950 reports, particularly peaking around 6pm. Among these reports, 69 percent indicated that the X app was malfunctioning, while 23 percent were related to website inaccessibility, and 8 percent pertained to issues connecting to X servers.

In India, users have also reported similar difficulties accessing the X.com platform and its mobile applications. According to Downdetector.in, over 2,200 users in the country reported being unable to use the service. Of these, 46 percent cited issues with the app, while 38 percent faced login problems, and 18 percent could not load the website.
At the time of publishing, staff from Gadgets 360 were unable to load posts on X, with the website displaying an error message when attempting to refresh new content. Users received a notification stating, “Something went wrong. Try reloading,” along with a non-functional Retry button. App users reported a message indicating, “Posts aren’t loading right now.”
Around 25,000 users indicated issues accessing X on Saturday.

The X Developer Platform Status page mentioned that “Login with X (OAuth) and other related login flows are experiencing degraded performance.” However, it remains uncertain if the current outages are connected to this issue. The incident history noted that a site-wide outage lasting 1.5 hours was resolved on Friday, concluding around 11pm IST.
According to the status page, the “Login with X (OAuth) degraded performance” issue has not yet been fixed. The last recorded downtime incident affecting X occurred on May 9, based on the platform’s incident history. Users are advised to monitor the X Developer Platform Status page for updates and information on when the issues may be resolved.
