The announcement for WWE 2K24, the latest entry in the renowned wrestling video game series developed by 2K, has been officially made. Set to release on March 8, the game will be available across multiple platforms including PC (via Steam), PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. Alongside the release date, 2K revealed the stars who will feature on the game’s covers. Cody Rhodes will grace the front of the Standard Edition, while Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley, champions of the Women’s Royal Rumble, will share the cover of the Deluxe Edition. Additionally, WWE 2K24 will commemorate 40 years of WrestleMania with a special edition showcasing legendary wrestlers such as The Rock, The Undertaker, and Hulk Hogan.
The unveiling of WWE 2K24 coincided with the release of an official trailer, highlighting both live-action WWE footage and gameplay from the upcoming title. Developed by Visual Concepts, 2K indicated that the game will introduce several new features, one of which is the 2K Showcase…of the Immortals mode, designed to recreate iconic matches from WrestleMania’s storied history.
In terms of gameplay enhancements, WWE 2K24 will introduce four new match types: Special Guest Referee, Ambulance Match, Casket Match, and Gauntlet Match. The game will also offer two new MyRISE experiences. Fans can expect classic WWE 2K match types to return, including WarGames, Extreme Rules, TLC, Submission, and Hell in a Cell. A roster boasting more than 200 WWE superstars will be featured, with icons like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and modern stars such as Cody Rhodes and Bianca Belair. Gamers will have the opportunity to unlock certain wrestlers through gameplay or by pre-ordering.
Improvements to gameplay and graphics are on the horizon, with 2K stating that WWE 2K24 will include refined animations, updating over 90 percent of the wrestlers’ facial expressions. Enhanced camera options will also be available, allowing players to adjust the camera view during gameplay. Other gameplay improvements will enhance elements like Super Finishers, the Trading Blows mini-game, and Paybacks.
The Deluxe Edition and Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition are set to release on March 5, 2024, with the Standard Edition following three days later on March 8. Pre-orders for the game have begun, with the Standard Edition available for Rs. 3,339 on Steam. Pricing for the Deluxe Edition and the Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition is set at Rs. 5,699 and Rs. 6,799, respectively. On the PlayStation Store, the Standard Edition for PS4 is listed at Rs. 4,499, while the Standard Cross-Gen Digital Edition is priced at Rs. 4,999. The Deluxe Edition and Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition on the PlayStation Store are set at Rs. 7,499 and Rs. 7,999, respectively. These prices are consistent on the Xbox Store.
