WhatsApp for Android is currently experimenting with a new feature that allows users to mark all their chats as read simultaneously. While this functionality has been in development for some time, it recently became accessible to numerous beta testers following the latest update. This update not only includes the chat marking feature but also the option to block messages from unknown contacts, alongside ongoing improvements in theming.

According to WABetaInfo, which tracks feature updates, this anticipated addition aims to enhance the user experience related to chat management within the app. Following the installation of WhatsApp beta version 2.24.20.19, Gadgets 360 verified that the new feature functions properly, allowing users to zero out their unread message notifications by marking all messages as ‘read’ at once.

The Mark All as Read option can be found in the overflow menu by clicking on the three-dot icon. Selecting this option will automatically mark all chats as read, saving users the need to individually select each chat and marking them manually.

This feature is anticipated to be made available to all users in a future stable update, currently being tested by beta users on Android. Meanwhile, iOS users may have to wait longer for the same functionality to be introduced.

It’s important to mention that while many features are tested during the beta phase, not every feature ultimately reaches the public application. Nevertheless, the deployment of this feature to beta testers indicates that it is likely to become widely available in the coming months.
