Ubisoft has unveiled a new mobile game titled Invincible, inspired by Robert Kirkman’s acclaimed comic series and its successful television adaptation. The game, dubbed Invincible: Guarding the Globe, launched on Monday and is available for free on iOS and Android platforms, as well as the Amazon store. Players will engage in squad-based battles to fend off alien invaders.
Set within the same universe as the comic and TV series, Invincible: Guarding the Globe showcases familiar characters such as Invincible, Atom Eve, and Omni-Man. Gamers have the opportunity to form a superhero team comprising up to five members, who will combat waves of adversaries including Flaxans, Reanimen, and Magmanites. Ubisoft emphasizes the importance of strategic team composition, requiring players to balance offensive, defensive, and support roles.
While the game may not be rich in narrative, it provides context through gameplay mechanics: Players assume the role of an agent for the Global Defense Agency, tasked with recruiting and deploying heroes to protect Earth from emerging threats. Missions are structured in chapters, each introducing fresh challenges, objectives, and rewards.
Moreover, a gear system allows players to enhance their heroes; they can equip up to four types of gear items and one artifact for additional buffs. Gear can be upgraded to improve a hero’s capabilities. Additionally, players can engage in multiple battles simultaneously in the background, earning rewards passively over time.
The game operates on a free-to-play model, incorporating in-app purchases and a virtual currency system. The Apple App Store lists starter packs and bundles ranging from Rs. 499 to Rs. 9,990. For iOS users, Invincible: Guarding the Globe requires a storage space of 225.5MB, with potential additional space needed for downloadable content.
Invincible: Guarding the Globe is now live on both iOS and Android platforms, and interested players can also access it via the Amazon app store.
