Traditionally published on a monthly basis, the July issue of Tinkle has introduced some noteworthy changes.
In an exciting development, Tinkle has announced its transition to a fortnightly publication schedule, beginning with the July 2016 issue. This issue was originally slated for earlier in the month; however, delays attributed to postal challenges pushed back its release. The subsequent issue is expected to be available in mid-July, marking another first for the magazine.

The latest edition features a fresh character, Wai Knot, hailing from Bengaluru, who embraces the philosophy of “don’t ask why, ask why not?” This addition is highlighted both on the cover and on Tinkle’s official website.
Both Tinkle and its counterpart Amar Chitra Katha were established by Anant Pai, affectionately known as Uncle Pai. Since being acquired by ACK Media in 2007, Tinkle has engaged actively in promoting comic culture in India, participating in events like Comic Con India and adapting to modern technology trends.
In 2014, the company launched the ACK Comics app, enabling readers to access their comics digitally. Additionally, Tinkle has collaborated with Blippar to create augmented reality comics, enhancing the reading experience.
With innovative strategies such as using WhatsApp for fan contests, Tinkle is prioritizing digital media to remain relevant while preserving the classic art and storytelling that define the magazine. The shift to fortnightly issues illustrates a growing popularity and a responsive approach to its audience’s demands.
