Sudowrite, an AI startup headquartered in Los Angeles, unveiled its latest fiction-writing artificial intelligence model, named Muse, last week. This innovative model is specifically designed to create unique and creative fiction pieces and will be accessible on the Sudowrite platform, which features a variety of writing-focused AI tools. The company asserts that Muse has been specially trained to eliminate clichés from its outputs, ensuring that each generated piece of prose is distinct. Users will also have the opportunity to experiment with the AI model using complimentary credits.
Sudowrite Introduces Muse AI Model
James Yu, the Founder of Sudowrite, announced the new Muse AI model in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Yu reported that the model had undergone testing over the past few months in collaboration with “hundreds of authors” to guarantee high-quality output. Writing samples produced by Muse can be viewed on this web page.
While generative AI models are recognized for their ability to compose creative writing, they often present limitations, such as generating clichés, producing repetitive sentences, and adhering to predictable plot structures.
According to Yu, Muse addresses these issues by honing in on the specific area of fiction writing. By concentrating exclusively on this vertical, the model specializes in creative writing through targeted training processes. Its support page indicates that “Muse is the most unfiltered model on Sudowrite, and embraces the full range of human experience, including violence, and adult themes.”
To utilize Muse, users must access the Sudowrite AI platform, click on Write, and go to Write Settings, where they can select Muse from the Prose Mode dropdown menu. Muse is also set as the default model for Write, Draft, and Expand modes. The startup emphasizes that the model is capable of delivering a high degree of creativity while adhering closely to prompts. Additionally, Sudowrite provides various third-party AI models, including Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GPT-4o, and DeepSeek-R1.
The capabilities of the Muse AI model include generating prose from scratch, rewriting existing drafts with specific tones, styles, or structures, uniquely describing words or phrases, and brainstorming plot points and character names.
New users who register on the platform receive 10,000 free credits. Staff members from Gadgets 360 tested the platform, finding that generating a prose of 75-100 words utilizes 25 credits. Once these initial credits are exhausted, users must subscribe, with plans beginning at $10 (approximately Rs. 870). This entry-level subscription grants access to 225,000 monthly credits, while the top-tier plan costs $44 (about Rs. 3,830) per month and offers two million monthly credits.
