Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to make its debut on earlier-generation consoles. Originally launched in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X, the action-adventure game will be available on PS4 and Xbox One starting September 17, as announced by publisher Electronic Arts on Tuesday. Pre-orders for the last-gen versions are currently open.
Launch Date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PS4 and Xbox One
Respawn Entertainment has confirmed the launch date for the PS4 and Xbox One editions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, along with details on pre-order bonuses. Gamers who pre-order the title on these consoles will receive complimentary in-game cosmetics.
The development team indicated that the upcoming versions for older consoles will include various optimizations to enhance hardware performance. Ensuring smooth gameplay on previous-generation consoles is crucial, particularly given the game’s earlier struggles with performance issues on PC and current-gen platforms at launch.
Following the initial release, Respawn issued an apology addressing the game’s technical performance on PCs, and has since rolled out several updates aimed at improving stability across all platforms.
On Tuesday, the developer also announced plans for an upcoming patch for the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This update is expected to enhance technical performance, improve control responsiveness, and introduce a range of quality-of-life improvements.
Electronic Arts initially announced the development of the PS4 and Xbox One versions during an earnings call in August of the previous year, noting that they were still in the early stages at that time.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor first launched on April 28, 2023, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. This sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order follows the adventures of Jedi Knight Cal Kestis as he navigates the dangers posed by the Empire.
