Samsung has begun the global rollout of One UI 7, but preparations for One UI 8 are already underway. Although the new Android 16-based operating system is still some time from an official release, a recent leak has revealed insights into its design and potential features. Reports indicate that Samsung has incorporated subtle visual updates to applications like the file manager and Gallery. Furthermore, an artificial intelligence feature, initially introduced with the flagship Galaxy S25 series, may soon be available for older devices as well.

One UI 8 Leaks

An exclusive report from SmartPrix provides an early glimpse of the anticipated One UI 8, which appears to be installed on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. The interface retains a design reminiscent of One UI 7, suggesting that most of the major visual changes have already been implemented in the current version.

Despite maintaining its core identity, notable adjustments have been identified in the file manager and Gallery applications. For instance, the file manager’s Categories tab has received a refresh, featuring a translucent background aimed at enhancing visual appeal.

Similarly, the Gallery app is reported to have undergone a design overhaul, with media categories like videos, favourites, recent items, locations, and shared albums now presented on a translucent backdrop. However, it is essential to note that the One UI 8 version observed appears to be an early build, and Samsung may still implement additional changes or refinements in future updates.

The leaked One UI 8 software running on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, identified by the build number F956BXXU2CYD7, is said to include the Now Brief feature, which was previously exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series. This feature utilizes Galaxy AI technology to provide users with insights into their device usage and daily activities, displaying this information in a card-style format. It can also present health and activity metrics when synchronized with accompanying devices like the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring.

According to the report, this promising feature has been integrated into the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with One UI 8, and older Galaxy models may soon have access to it as well.
