Samsung has officially launched the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea after several months of beta testing, according to announcements made on the company’s community forum. This new interface is built on Google’s Android 15 operating system and was first unveiled with the Galaxy S25 series in January. One UI 7 introduces a range of customization options, visual upgrades, a new notification system known as Now Bar, redesigned widgets, and a variety of features enhanced by the Galaxy AI suite.
Availability of One UI 7 Update
As reported on Samsung’s South Korean community forum, users of the Galaxy S24 Ultra are beginning to receive the stable One UI 7 update. The changelog indicates that individuals enrolled in the One UI beta program can transition to the official version to ensure they receive future updates sooner than other users.
According to Samsung, the rollout of One UI 7 will coincide with the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, which consists of three different models. Additionally, Samsung’s latest foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, will also partake in the initial wave of updates based on Android 15.
Beyond the Galaxy S24 series, other devices will also be eligible for the One UI 7 update, as stated by Samsung. Models such as the Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, along with the Galaxy Tab S10 and S9 series are set to receive the update in the coming weeks, although specific release dates remain to be confirmed.
Key Features of One UI 7
The One UI 7 update emphasizes the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the user experience. A major highlight is the Now Bar, which takes the form of a pill-shaped bar at the bottom of the screen, displaying multiple cards. This feature provides a variety of information right on the lock screen, including music currently playing, flight schedules, Google Maps directions, delivery updates, and sports scores. An additional feature, Now Brief, expands on the Now Bar by offering users a comprehensive overview of their day, featuring weather updates, reminders, calendar events, and health data.
Samsung has also enhanced its Galaxy AI capabilities with many new functionalities. AI Select allows users to specify a particular area of the screen to focus on. Other features, such as Writing Assist and Drawing Assist, facilitate text summarization, formatting, and the creation of images from basic sketches or text prompts.
Furthermore, the update includes Gemini integration, enabling users to inquire about content displayed on their screens. This function can perform cross-application tasks, such as locating a dog-friendly Italian restaurant and sharing the details with a friend.
