On Monday, Apple unveiled its long-awaited iOS 18.4 update for iPhone users. This update enhances Apple’s Intelligence features, including the introduction of Priority Notifications and the rollout of Visual Intelligence for the iPhone 15 Pro models. Furthermore, Apple is broadening the access to its AI suite by introducing it to India and other regions, allowing users to engage with these features without needing to change their device and Siri language to English (US).
The latest update brings a variety of enhancements, including new Control Centre toggles, fresh emojis, and a dedicated app for customizing Apple Vision Pro functionalities.

According to Apple, the iOS 18.4 update extends support for Apple Intelligence features to include several languages, such as Chinese (Simplified), English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish. This change grants iPhone users in India access to AI capabilities without any need to modify the device’s language settings.
Features of iOS 18.4 Update for iPhone
A notable enhancement in this update is the adoption of Visual Intelligence for iPhone 15 Pro models. First introduced with the iPhone 16 series in September, this visual lookup feature utilizes Apple Intelligence to allow users to quickly learn about various objects and locations. It includes functionalities such as summarizing text, translating between languages, and recognizing phone numbers or email addresses for easy contact addition. Users can also perform web searches for products, solve math problems, or seek further details through ChatGPT.
While the new Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 models activates this feature, iPhone 15 Pro users can access it through the Action button and a new toggle in the Control Centre.
The iOS 18.4 update also features an Apple Vision Pro app specifically designed for iPhone. This application allows users to download apps and games for the Vision Pro through the App Store, explore films and shows catered to the mixed reality headset, find helpful tips, and access relevant information. A new tool called Review Summaries has been introduced, which compiles individual user reviews of apps and games from the App Store into a cohesive summary, streamlining the process for users looking for insights without browsing through extensive reviews.
Additionally, the update includes new toggles for the existing Siri interaction and Visual Intelligence capabilities. Another enhancement, Ambient mode, enables users to enjoy background soundscapes. The Apple News+ app in iOS 18.4 now features recipes from prominent recipe publishers, along with a catalogue for users to search for their next culinary endeavor. Finally, the Image Playground app has introduced Sketch as an additional creative style option, complementing its existing animation and illustration features.
