The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is anticipated to make its debut later this year, succeeding the Galaxy S24 FE, which is currently available in India and other global markets. The Galaxy S24 FE utilized Samsung’s own Exynos 2400e processor, a slightly modified version of the Exynos 2400 chipset found in last year’s flagship Galaxy S24. Unlike the Galaxy S24 series, which featured varying processors across different regions, the Galaxy S25 series will be equipped with the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset across all models.
Recently, a Geekbench entry was uncovered by tipster Abhishek Yadav, which sheds light on the ongoing speculations regarding the Galaxy S25 FE. This listing provides information on the model name, performance score, chipset details, RAM, and the version of software it operates on.
This new information presents a contradiction to earlier reports suggesting the Galaxy S25 FE might be equipped with a Dimensity 9400 SoC. According to the Geekbench listing, the device is identified as being powered by the Exynos 2400 processor. While this chipset is capable and reliable, it is noteworthy that MediaTek’s processor tends to deliver superior performance at 3.62GHz, thanks to its more efficient 3nm manufacturing process.
The Exynos 2400 was also responsible for powering the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus models in India last year.
Initially, the Galaxy S25 FE was expected to feature the same chipset as the current Galaxy S24 FE model. Recent reports suggested the potential for a MediaTek alternative, but stated that this would only be pursued if Samsung’s fabs encountered difficulties in producing Exynos chips.
With the confirmation from the Geekbench listing regarding the existence of an Exynos 2400-equipped Galaxy S25 FE, it appears Samsung might be adopting a similar chipset strategy as seen with the Galaxy S24. The listing indicates a model number with a ‘U’, suggesting that US versions of the Galaxy S25 FE could utilize the Exynos chip, while consumers in other regions might be offered a MediaTek option. The availability of a MediaTek-powered variant for this year’s Galaxy S25 FE, however, remains uncertain.
