Qualcomm has introduced its inaugural Snapdragon Experience Zone in India, collaborating with Croma, a prominent consumer electronics retail chain. Situated within the Croma Store in Juhu, Mumbai, this initiative marks the company’s broader strategy to expand its presence with additional Snapdragon Experience Zones throughout the country. Visitors to this location will have the opportunity to explore devices that utilize Snapdragon system-on-chips (SoCs) and witness demonstrations of their capabilities, including features powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

According to the company, the Snapdragon Experience Zone will feature a variety of ecosystem products like smartphones, PCs, wearables, and audio devices, all utilizing Qualcomm’s processors. The store will employ trained staff to offer demonstrations, highlighting the chips’ potential, particularly in on-device AI applications.

Customers are encouraged to engage with these devices, gaining hands-on experience and receiving expert guidance from the knowledgeable staff.

During the launch event, Savi Soin, President of Qualcomm India, commented, “This initiative allows customers to experience the transformative power of on-device AI, showcasing the cutting-edge capabilities of the Snapdragon ecosystem.”

Qualcomm has indicated plans to establish additional Experience Zones in India, although specific locations have yet to be disclosed. This announcement comes ahead of the launch of the Snapdragon X CPUs in India today (February 24), in partnership with Asus at an event in New Delhi.

Similar to their international models, the Snapdragon X CPUs are expected to incorporate AI support via a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU). This platform is designed to be adaptable across various thermal designs and form factors.

The company anticipates that its new platform will power laptops retailing for under $600 (approximately Rs. 51,400) globally, with a likely similar approach for the Indian market. Dubbed “AI PCs for Everyone,” the event suggests that the new processors aim to deliver AI performance at a competitive price point.
