Poco has officially declared that the C71 smartphone will make its debut in India later this week. The company shared details about the phone’s design, color options, and essential features, including its display, build, battery, camera, and processor specifications. Promotional content suggests the smartphone’s anticipated price range as well. The C71 is set to replace the Poco C61, which was launched in India in March 2024. The C61 model featured a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC along with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM.
Poco C71 India Launch: Details Revealed
The Poco C71 is scheduled for launch in India on April 4 at 12 PM IST, as confirmed through a post on the company’s X account. This announcement includes a link to a dedicated microsite on Flipkart, where additional promotional images indicate that the price for the device will be under Rs. 7,000. For comparison, the previous Poco C61 was introduced at a price of Rs. 6,999 for the base model featuring 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The Flipkart microsite highlights that the Poco C71 will feature a “split grid design” providing a dual-tone finish. The device will be available in three color variants: Cool Blue, Desert Gold, and Power Black. Notably, a vertically arranged rear camera module with a golden trim is positioned at the top left of the back panel.
The display of the Poco C71 is designed with slim side bezels, a relatively thicker chin, and a centrally located waterdrop notch for the front camera. The volume rocker and power button are situated along the right edge, while the SIM card slot can be found on the left side.
Poco has also disclosed that the C71 will feature a 6.88-inch screen that boasts a refresh rate of 120Hz, along with triple TÜV Rheinland eye-protection certifications, which include low blue light, flicker-free, and circadian certifications. Teasers suggest that the display will support wet touch, allowing users to operate the device even with wet hands.
Under the hood, the C71 will house a 5,200mAh battery that supports 15W wired charging. It will carry an IP52 rating, indicating dust and splash resistance. For user security, the smartphone will incorporate a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The camera setup includes a dual rear camera system with a primary 32-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies.
The Poco C71 is teased to come equipped with an octa-core chipset that achieves an AnTuTu score exceeding 300,000, paired with 6GB of RAM. Users will have the option to expand the RAM by an additional 6GB of virtual memory, allowing for a total of 12GB. The device will also support storage expansion of up to 2TB. It is set to run on Android 15 and promises two years of Android OS upgrades along with four years of security updates.
