Oppo is preparing to launch a new smartphone in India, with a teaser released on Thursday that did not disclose the device’s name or specifications. Speculation suggests that the forthcoming model could either be part of the Oppo Reno 14 series or the Oppo K13 series. The Oppo Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro were introduced in China in May, featuring MediaTek Dimensity chipsets, along with 50-megapixel front-facing cameras and 80W wired fast charging capabilities.
Oppo Teases New Smartphone Launch
In a recent press release, Oppo confirmed its plans to introduce a new smartphone in the Indian market. The announcement described the upcoming device as poised for a “bold comeback,” stating it is “tougher, sharper, and built to raise the bar.”
The release showcased an image depicting the device under wraps, inviting consumers to speculate on what is concealed beneath the cover, with a ‘coming soon’ message prominently displayed.
Although Oppo has yet to officially confirm specific model names, the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro are anticipated to be launched in India shortly. Furthermore, there is a possibility that either the Oppo K13 Turbo or K13x could be unveiled as well.
Industry insiders expect the Oppo Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro to debut in India in the first week of July. These models were priced at CNY 2,799 (approximately Rs. 33,200) for the base variant of the standard Reno 14 upon their launch in China last month.
The Chinese versions of the Oppo Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro are equipped with 6.59-inch and 6.83-inch 1.5K flat OLED displays, respectively. The standard Reno 14 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 SoC, whereas the Pro variant utilizes a MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chip. Both devices feature 50-megapixel primary cameras accompanied by 50-megapixel selfie cameras. Notably, the Reno 14 is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery, while the Reno 14 Pro boasts a slightly larger 6,200mAh battery.
In addition, reports indicate that Oppo is also developing the Oppo K13x and Oppo K13 Turbo models, with the latter expected to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC.
