The Oppo Reno 14 series was officially launched in China last week, with plans for a global rollout in select markets anticipated shortly. The global models of the Reno 14 will feature built-in Google Gemini capabilities, as confirmed by the company. The Chinese variants operate on Android 15-based ColorOS 15, feature 1.5K flat OLED displays, and are said to adhere to IP66, IP68, and IP69 standards for dust and water resistance. The Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro models are equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8350 and MediaTek Dimensity 8450 processors, respectively.
Global Launch of Oppo Reno 14 Series to Feature Google Gemini Integration
The global debut of the Oppo Reno 14 series will include Google’s Gemini AI integrated into essential Oppo applications such as Oppo Notes, Oppo Calendar, and Oppo Clock, according to a recent press statement from the company. Similar to their Chinese variants, the global phones will operate on Android 15-based ColorOS 15.
With the Google Gemini integration, users of the Oppo Reno 14 series will have the ability to “retrieve information and perform tasks directly” through the Gemini chat feature using a single command. Users can activate the chat functionality by pressing and holding the “side button,” likely referring to the power button, as the Chinese versions only have volume controls aside from that.
Oppo added in its announcement that Gemini will soon allow users to navigate multiple applications and accomplish complex tasks with greater ease. For example, users can use the Gemini app to read lengthy documents, summarize them, and store the summary in Oppo Notes, or watch YouTube cooking videos to extract instructions and save them in the Notes app. Additionally, users can easily add their travel plans to the Oppo Calendar.
The Chinese versions of the Oppo Reno 14 5G and the Reno 14 Pro 5G feature 6.59-inch and 6.83-inch 1.5K flat OLED screens, respectively. The standard version is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 SoC, while the Pro model employs the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset. Both phones support up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offer storage options of up to 1TB via UFS 3.1.
For photography, the Oppo Reno 14 5G series includes a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization, coupled with a 50-megapixel periscope lens, in addition to 50-megapixel front cameras for selfies. Both models support 80W wired fast charging and come with in-display fingerprint sensors. The base model boasts a 6,000mAh battery, while the Pro version has a 6,200mAh battery. Both are also designed to meet IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
