The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is set to launch with an upgraded dual-cell battery, offering greater capacity than its predecessor, the Find X8 Ultra, according to insider information. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer aims to unveil this improvement in the upcoming model while keeping its sleek design intact. The device, expected to be introduced in the next few months alongside the Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, is anticipated to include a quad rear camera array and will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset.

The smartphone referenced in the Weibo post is believed to be the anticipated Find X9 Ultra. The insider further noted that the battery cells will be stacked to help maintain a slim profile for the device.

Despite the larger battery capacity, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is rumored to support the same charging speeds as the Find X8 Ultra. The latter model includes a 6,100mAh battery along with support for 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Notably, the Find X8 Ultra was not released in India last year.

An earlier leak suggested that the Oppo Find X9 Ultra could come equipped with a quad rear camera setup, featuring two 200-megapixel lenses and two 50-megapixel dual-periscope lenses with adjustable focal lengths. The main camera is likely to be a 1/1.3-inch sensor that may provide 3x optical zoom capabilities.

In contrast, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra is fitted with a Hasselblad-enhanced rear camera system, which includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50-megapixel 3x telephoto sensor, and a 50-megapixel periscope camera. For selfies, it is equipped with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is expected to maintain a flat display design similar to its predecessor. It may utilize a chipset known by the codename SM8850, which is thought to be the forthcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.

For reference, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra features a 6.82-inch AMOLED LTPO display with a 2K resolution of 3,168×1,440 pixels, supporting Dolby Vision and delivering up to a 120Hz refresh rate alongside peak brightness of 1,600 nits. It is driven by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 internal storage.
