During the global unveiling of the Oppo Find X8 series last year, the absence of the Ultra model drew attention. Similar to other Chinese smartphone manufacturers, Oppo decided not to release its high-end Ultra version to global markets, despite allowing reviews of the Find X7 Ultra prior. This strategy appears unchanged for the current year, as information indicates that the upcoming Find X8 Ultra, set for an April 10 launch in China, will be exclusive to that market. Details about the phone’s hardware specifications have emerged, following its listing on TENAA, supporting its Ultra designation.
The Oppo Find X8 Ultra has been included in a listing on China’s TENAA website, which showcases both its design and specifications.
Design Features of the Oppo Find X8 Ultra
Images from the TENAA listing reveal that the Find X8 Ultra bears a resemblance to both the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro, launched late last year. However, unlike its predecessor, the Find X7 Ultra, the new model features a flat display, aligning more closely with the design of the standard Find X8. The rear panel also adopts a design similar to the Find X8, showcasing a circular camera module set against a flat glass surface and framed with rounded metal edges.
While perhaps less distinctive than the Find X7 Ultra’s design, the Find X8 Ultra will come equipped with an IP68/69 rating for dust and water resistance, a notable enhancement. Additionally, magnetic wireless charging is anticipated, presumably integrated into the device rather than necessitating a specific case.
Upon launch, the Find X8 Ultra is expected to be available in three color options: Starry Black, Moonlight White, and Morning Light. Notably, the Ultra model will introduce a new physical button reminiscent of an Action Button.
Specifications Details for the Oppo Find X8 Ultra
The specifications reveal that the Find X8 Ultra will feature a 6.82-inch OLED display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels. This configuration mirrors that of the Find X7 Ultra, although the new iteration appears to utilize a flat design rather than a curved edge. Furthermore, the display is set to include an embedded ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, according to TENAA.
Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, unlike the MediaTek processors in the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. In China, the Find X8 Ultra will reportedly be offered in configurations of 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage. There is also a special Satellite Communication edition anticipated, featuring 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The camera system includes a primary 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 camera equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera from Samsung, another 50-megapixel Sony camera for 3x periscope zoom, a further 50-megapixel Sony 6x periscope lens, and an additional 2-megapixel sensor, contributing to a total of five cameras. Selfie enthusiasts can expect a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
Equipped with a robust 6,100mAh battery, the Find X8 Ultra presents a significant increase in capacity compared to its predecessor. The device will support fast charging at 100W via wired connection and 50W for wireless charging. It will operate on Android 15, customized with Oppo’s ColorOS.
The official announcement of the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, along with the Find X8s and Find X8s+, is anticipated on April 10 in China.
