Alcatel, the French consumer technology brand, is set to re-enter the Indian mobile phone market after a seven-year absence, having formed a partnership with Flipkart. The brand, which operates independently under TCL Communication, will offer locally manufactured smartphones through the well-known e-commerce platform and its rapid-delivery service, Flipkart Minutes. Alcatel plans to establish a comprehensive service network across India to enhance customer support and is expected to introduce premium devices that showcase French design aesthetics soon.
Alcatel to Launch Nationwide Service Network
In a press release issued on Tuesday, Alcatel announced its collaboration with Flipkart. This partnership will enable the brand to introduce its latest smartphone offerings on both Flipkart’s primary platform and its speedy delivery service.
The smartphones will be produced locally and will be accessible to customers in major metropolitan areas as well as Tier II and Tier III cities, featuring a distinctive French design.
The announcement regarding Alcatel’s return to India was made in early April, where the company revealed plans to unveil a selection of premium smartphones tailored for the market.
Among the products set to launch is a smartphone equipped with a stylus. Additionally, Alcatel aims to create a nationwide service network while introducing India’s first patented innovations, the details of which remain undisclosed.
