The upcoming OnePlus 13T is set to reintroduce the company into the compact flagship market, with its official launch scheduled for April 24 in China. In this competitive segment, brands such as Samsung, Google, and Oppo have established a price range near Rs. 70,000 for their devices. In a bid to attract customers, OnePlus is likely to price the 13T more affordably, which may also result in a simpler camera setup compared to the current offerings in compact flagships and the OnePlus 13. However, initial reports indicate that the new model will provide enhanced battery life.
Louis Jie, the Head of OnePlus (China), recently shared details on the device’s battery via a Weibo post. The OnePlus 13T is expected to feature an impressive 6,260mAh battery capacity. According to Jie, users can expect to charge the phone just once a day under typical usage conditions. He emphasized that the robust battery would likely eliminate the need for users to carry a power bank or frequently engage the device’s power-saving mode, despite the phone’s compact size.
In addition, the Weibo post included screenshots demonstrating the OnePlus 13T’s battery performance across various scenarios, showing it in comparison not only to other compact flagships but also to the larger Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max. In certain usage contexts, such as GPS navigation, the OnePlus 13T appears to compete effectively with larger devices, showcasing the advantages of its compact design.
OnePlus has introduced a new battery technology known as Glacier Battery, which is likely aligned with the silicon carbon battery technology increasingly seen in numerous Chinese smartphones. This innovation enhances the battery’s capacity due to its energy-dense features and also enables faster charging capabilities.
Reports suggest that the OnePlus 13T will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and will sport a flat 6.32-inch display with slim bezels. Additionally, the design of this model is said to differ significantly from previous OnePlus releases, marking a new aesthetic direction for the brand.
In terms of specifications, the compact flagship is rumored to possess IP68 and IP69 ratings along with a novel physical button that replaces the traditional Alert Slider. Previous leaks indicated that the device would feature 80W fast charging, although they also mentioned a slightly smaller 6,100mAh battery capacity.
