Nothing has unveiled the first complete image of its upcoming Ear 3 wireless earbuds. The design closely resembles that of the Ear 2, which launched in 2023. However, an exciting update is the introduction of 100 percent recycled anodized aluminum in the construction of the charging case. Notably, this new case will also incorporate a microphone known as the Super Mic and includes a dedicated “talk” button for added functionality.
The company emphasizes that the addition of metal components enhances durability and imparts a premium feel to the product. Furthermore, the metal antenna in the earbuds has undergone reengineering to allow for a sleeker design. Details about the applications of the charging case’s microphone and talk button, along with performance specifications for the earbuds, are set to be disclosed on September 18th, 2025, at 8AM ET.
Recently, Nothing has been teasing the Ear 3 on its X account, sharing various images that focus on the intricate design elements of the new earbuds. While the addition of the talk button and microphone appears to be compelling, the specific functionalities they will serve remain unclear. It is unknown whether the features will primarily facilitate interactions with a smart assistant or if the charging case will operate similarly to a wireless microphone from brands like DJI and Insta360.
