Nothing is set to release the CMF Phone 2 Pro on April 28, marking a continuation of its CMF sub-brand following the CMF Phone 1 from last year. Recent promotional materials highlight the device’s rear camera configuration. The CMF Phone 2 Pro is expected to feature a triple rear camera system that includes both a telephoto sensor and an ultra-wide camera. This development signifies a notable improvement over the dual rear camera system found in the predecessor, the CMF Phone 1.
Details on the CMF Phone 2 Pro’s Camera
In an official teaser shared on X (formerly Twitter), Nothing showcased the camera capabilities of the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The budget-friendly smartphone will boast a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a 1/1.57-inch size and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens that offers 2x optical zoom. Additionally, there will be an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera covering a 119.5-degree field of view.
This camera configuration represents a considerable advancement from the CMF Phone 1, which utilized a dual rear camera arrangement consisting of a 50-megapixel main Sony sensor and a portrait lens.
The CMF Phone 2 Pro is confirmed to be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, which is said to provide a 10% improvement in CPU performance and up to 5% better graphics capabilities compared to the previous model. This new chipset is likely an enhanced version of the Dimensity 7300 that powered the CMF Phone 1. It includes a sixth-generation NPU that boasts AI computing power of up to 4.8 TOPS.
The smartphone is marketed to support gaming at 120 frames per second (fps) for BGMI and features a touch sampling rate of 1,000Hz. Furthermore, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is designed to be thin and lightweight.
The official launch is scheduled for April 28, coinciding with the introduction of the CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus earphones. Akis Evangelidis, co-founder of Nothing and President for India, has confirmed that the phone will come with a charger included in the packaging, along with a transparent protective back cover.
