Nothing’s upcoming flagship device, the Phone 3, is set to make its debut on July 1. In the meantime, the company, led by Carl Pei, has been sharing new information about the smartphone. Following the announcement of the chipset and software update policy for the Phone 3, Nothing has released a teaser video showcasing a significant feature that will take the place of the Glyph Interface.
According to a post on X, the Phone 3 will introduce a “Glyph Matrix” interface on its rear panel, which differentiates it from the previous Phone 2 and Phone 1 models. The revamped LED interface supersedes the former Glyph design, incorporating a dot-matrix panel situated in the top right corner of the back of the device.
The Glyph Matrix is anticipated to provide various functions such as displaying animations, call notifications, battery status, the time, and other alerts. Similar to the design seen in Asus’s gaming-oriented ROG Phones, this dot matrix system employs mini-LEDs for animations and user interactions.
While additional specifics regarding the design of the Nothing Phone 3 remain scarce, it is likely that the company will continue to unveil more teasers as the launch date approaches.
Nothing Phone 3: Current Insights
The Nothing Phone 3 is scheduled to launch alongside the Nothing Headphone 1 on July 1. The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, and the company has committed to providing five years of Android OS updates, along with seven years of security patches for this new smartphone.
Leaked information suggests that the Phone 3 might feature a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, the battery is rumored to exceed a capacity of 5,000mAh, and the device may sport a 6.77-inch AMOLED display.
The expected price for the Nothing Phone 3 is around GBP 800, which is approximately Rs. 90,000.
