A new trailer for Star Wars Outlaws was unveiled on Tuesday, providing significant insights into the game’s narrative, introducing a range of characters, and announcing its official release date of August 30, 2024. This upcoming action-adventure title from Ubisoft invites players to immerse themselves in the role of Kay Vess, a daring scoundrel navigating intergalactic heists in the Outer Rim during a flourishing era for criminal enterprises. Pre-orders for Star Wars Outlaws are currently open on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X platforms.
The official story trailer presents the game’s backdrop, highlighting various criminal factions that thrive during this “golden age for the underworld.” The timeline is set between the iconic films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, amidst the Empire’s prolonged struggle against rebel forces. Kay Vess, an ambitious scoundrel, finds herself entangled with the notorious crime family, Zerek Besh, led by the formidable Sliro. Vess embarks on high-stakes heists alongside her partner Nix, battling the most dangerous crime syndicates in pursuit of her freedom.
The trailer also showcases intense action sequences and combat encounters. The initial trailer, released in June of last year, offered a first look at gameplay mechanics. Developed by Ubisoft Massive, Star Wars Outlaws is designed as an expansive open world, featuring both new and familiar locations from the Star Wars universe. Players can traverse expansive terrains on their speeder, engage with fellow outlaws, accept missions in vibrant cities and cantinas, and engage in thrilling dogfights while piloting their ships.
In addition to the new story trailer, Ubisoft announced various editions of the game. Star Wars Outlaws will be offered in Standard, Gold, and Ultimate editions. Players who choose to pre-order the Gold or Ultimate editions will receive early access to the game — three days ahead of the general release — along with additional content, including a season pass featuring two post-launch DLCs.
Star Wars Outlaws is set to launch on August 30 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
