Netflix Games, the gaming subscription service integrated into standard Netflix memberships, has expanded its library to nearly 90 titles spanning various genres. Each month, the platform introduces new games that are accessible on Android devices, iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches. Recently, during its Geeked Week 2023 event, Netflix unveiled four new mobile games inspired by popular series and films available on its streaming service. The newly announced titles are Money Heist, Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold, Chicken Run: Eggstraction, and The Dragon Prince: Xadia, all set to launch soon for subscribers.
Money Heist
Inspired by the hit crime drama Money Heist, this mobile game allows players to experience the original heist depicted in the series. With a narrative-driven design, players will engage in the La Perla Museo de Barcelona heist alongside characters from the show. The gameplay includes narrative choices that influence outcomes and features light puzzle elements. The recently released trailer highlights the characters from the series, showcasing various dialogue options available to players.
Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold
Drawing from the fantasy series Shadow and Bone, this mobile game transports players back to the Grishaverse. Set in the timeline between Seasons 1 and 2 of the show, Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold appears to be a top-down RPG focusing on dialogue choices influenced by character attributes.
Chicken Run: Eggstraction
Chicken Run: Eggstraction, a top-down stealth action game, comes from the creators of the original Chicken Run film. This game is inspired by the forthcoming stop-motion animated feature Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. Developers have described the game as a heist experience, playfully dubbed “Grand Theft Auto chickens.” The idea for this title emerged during the film’s production as a way to further explore the Chicken Run universe. Currently in development, it is expected to be available to Netflix Games users by next year.
The Dragon Prince: Xadia
This action-packed title is based on the animated fantasy series The Dragon Prince. The game, set as a hack-and-slash looter action-RPG, allows players to cooperate in battle against evil forces in Xadia. Each player can control a unique hero, equipped with distinct weapons. The gameplay and visual style draw inspiration from Supergiant Games’ acclaimed title Hades. The Dragon Prince: Xadia is anticipated to launch on Netflix Games for mobile devices next year.
Recent reports indicate that Netflix is intensifying efforts to enrich its game offerings, with a focus on adding high-quality titles. The platform plans to introduce games inspired by its most popular series, including upcoming mobile adaptations of Squid Game and Wednesday. Furthermore, in July, Netflix Games included The Queen’s Gambit Chess, based on the successful series featuring Anya Taylor-Joy, accessible on both Android and iOS. The company is also exploring the possibility of bringing select titles to TVs, PCs, and Macs.
