MSI is reportedly preparing to introduce a new handheld gaming console under the Claw brand in the near future. Recently, a new model associated with this console was discovered on the company’s spare parts website. While MSI has not officially revealed details about the device, its model number, along with MSI’s past offerings, suggests that the anticipated MSI Claw 7 A2HM may feature either an Intel CPU or an AMD Ryzen processor. This model might serve as an updated version of the existing MSI Claw 7.
Details Emerge on the MSI Claw 7 A2HM’s Potential Specs
An X (formerly Twitter) user, Huang514613 (@94G8LA), identified the model number MSI Claw 7 A2HM (MS-1T41) on MSI’s spare parts website. This user suggested that the lack of an “AI” designation within the model number might indicate that the console will come with an AMD Ryzen Z2 series processor, which lacks an active neural processing unit (NPU).
Looking at the model nomenclature of MSI’s previous handheld consoles, the third character in “A2HM” typically signifies an Intel processor. Furthermore, the second letter may denote a second-generation Intel Core Ultra processor.
It appears that the MSI Claw A2HM could be equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 200H processor. Similar to the Ryzen Z2, this Intel chip does not fulfill Microsoft’s criteria for Copilot PCs, contrasting with the latest handheld consoles released by the company.
The documentation for the upcoming MSI Claw 7 A2HM indicates that it received certification in February, following the launch of the MSI Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+, both featuring Intel Lunar Lake CPUs and displays up to 8 inches in size.
While MSI has not yet made any formal announcements regarding the release of a new handheld gaming console, the presence of multiple indicators suggests that this new model number relates to an upcoming product. It is expected that the MSI Claw 7 A2HM could be revealed in the coming months as a refreshed iteration of the existing MSI Claw 7.
