The MSI Claw has officially launched and is now available for purchase in the United States and select international markets. This handheld gaming PC was first introduced at CES 2024 in January, marking MSI’s entry into the competitive handheld gaming sector. The Claw will go head-to-head with established devices such as the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, among others, in this rapidly growing category.
Pricing and Availability
The entry-level MSI Claw A1M-052US, equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5-135H processor and 512GB SSD, is priced at $699 (approximately Rs. 57,793) in the US. In addition, the higher-end models, A1M-051US and A1M-050US, featuring the Core Ultra 7 chipset and 512GB and 1TB SSD storage respectively, are available for $749 (around Rs. 61,933) and $799 (about Rs. 66,067). Currently, the base model is offered in a single Black option through the MSI store in the United States alongside select retailers in other regions.
Specifications of the MSI Claw
The MSI Claw features a 7-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS touchscreen display with a peak brightness of 500 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7-155H processor and operates on Windows 11 Home straight out of the box.
This handheld comes with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and offers up to 1TB of NVMe PCIe Gen4 SSD storage, which can be expanded via a MicroSD card slot. Graphics are handled by Intel Arc technology. For connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a Thunderbolt 4 enabled USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone/mic combo jack.
Additionally, the MSI Claw is equipped with dual speakers, RGB ABXY buttons and thumb sticks, a D-pad, triggers, bumpers, HD haptics, and a fingerprint scanner. For thermal management during gaming sessions, it uses Cooler Boost HyperFlow technology. The device is powered by a 6-cell, 53WHr battery with 65W USB PD 3.0 charging support. The dimensions of the MSI Claw are 294 x 117 x 21.2mm, and it weighs 675g.
