Motorola is set to launch a refreshed version of its budget-friendly stylus phone, the Moto G Stylus 2025, featuring two striking blue color options. Both models showcase a “leather-inspired” finish on the back and present an impressive specifications list for a price of $399, although they may come with some pre-installed bloatware.
In a notable change, the Moto G Stylus 2025 drops the ‘5G’ label and features an upgraded Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, replacing last year’s Gen 1 chip. Motorola asserts that this upgrade results in a significant 6.4x increase in responsiveness compared to its predecessor. Additionally, the new model boasts full IP68 water resistance, enhancing its durability compared to earlier iterations that only offered water-repellent properties. Importantly, it retains the headphone jack, a feature that many users appreciate.
Equipped with a sizable 6.7-inch OLED display, the Moto G Stylus 2025 supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, offering enhanced smoothness and clarity at a resolution of 2712 x 1220. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the main camera featuring a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia sensor, alongside a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens capable of macro photos. The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which supports both up to 68W wired and 15W wireless charging. Out of the box, it runs on Android 15, with options for 128GB or 256GB of storage paired with 8GB of RAM.
With its strong water resistance, wireless charging capabilities, and eye-catching color choices, the Moto G Stylus 2025 seems to check off many desired features for midrange smartphones. However, past experiences with midrange Motorola products have left some consumers wary. Questions about the prevalence of bloatware and the adequacy of software updates remain. Motorola has not yet commented on bloatware concerns regarding the G Stylus 2025, and any further information will be updated accordingly.
The Moto G Stylus 2025 is set for an unlocked launch on April 17th at a price of $399, with plans for future availability through major US carriers in the following months.
