Capcom has announced that an Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds will take place next week across all platforms. This testing period will run from October 31 to November 3 for players on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Players subscribed to PlayStation Plus will gain early access starting October 28, according to the publisher.
Announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test
The Open Beta Test for Monster Hunter Wilds will be exclusively online and will support cross-play among various platforms. “The aim of this test is to offer players a chance to explore a limited segment of Monster Hunter Wilds while also allowing us to assess various technical components such as network traffic and overall performance ahead of the game’s full release,” Capcom stated in their announcement.
Participants in the open beta will have access to the complete character creation menu that will be available at the game’s official launch. Players can customize their characters as many times as they wish during this testing phase. Furthermore, Capcom confirmed that the character creation data will carry over to the full game upon its release. Players will be able to design their own Hunter and a Palico companion.
The beta will feature an introductory cutscene along with the Chatacabra hunt, which serves as an essential tutorial for combat mechanics. Additionally, players will engage in the Doshaguma hunt, tasked with defeating the leader of the Doshaguma pack. During the hunt, players will have the opportunity to explore the environment using their Seikret mount and can switch between two types of weapons.
Throughout both quests, players will have the option to use an SOS flare to team up with others online or summon up to three NPC Support Hunters to assist in their missions. Capcom has confirmed that multiplayer will include cross-play capabilities during the open beta.
Those participating in the Open Beta Test will receive special bonus items that can be redeemed in the full version of the game.
Open Beta Test Schedule
For subscribers of PlayStation Plus, the Open Beta Test will commence on Monday, October 28 at 8 PM PT, which translates to Tuesday, October 9 at 8:30 AM IST. This early access period will conclude on Wednesday, October 30 at 7:59 PM PT (Thursday, October 31 at 8:29 AM IST).
For all other players on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, the open beta will officially start on Thursday, October 31 at 8 PM PT (Friday, November 1 at 8:30 AM IST) and will wrap up on Sunday, November 3 at 6:59 PM PT (Monday, November 4 at 8:29 AM IST, adjusted for daylight savings).
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on February 28, 2025. Pre-orders are currently available on all supported platforms.
