Mistral has unveiled its Le Chat artificial intelligence (AI) assistant apps for iOS and Android as of Thursday. Previously accessible only via a web interface, the Paris-based AI company’s chatbot is now expanding its presence across multiple platforms. Le Chat is powered by Mistral’s advanced large language models (LLMs) and boasts a range of capabilities, including answering general inquiries, conducting web searches, processing multimodal input, generating images, and running code in a sandboxed setting. Additionally, Mistral has launched two new subscription tiers that provide enhanced AI models and increased rate limits.
Mistral Launches Le Chat Apps for iOS and Android
In a recent announcement, Mistral shared the release of its iOS and Android apps for Le Chat. The chatbot application competes with other leading platforms such as Google’s Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Copilot, and Anthropic’s Claude. Mistral emphasizes several distinctive features that set Le Chat apart from its competitors.
While many chatbots today can field inquiries, engage in conversation, create images, perform web searches, and assist in coding, Mistral touts its chatbot’s superiority in terms of speed and quality. The company claims to utilize “the fastest inference engines on the planet,” allowing Le Chat to generate content at a rate of up to 1,000 words per second. According to a test conducted by Gadgets 360, Le Chat showed a slightly quicker response generation time compared to ChatGPT and Gemini. This rapid response feature is available to all users and does not require account creation.

Mistral also emphasizes its capability for high-quality image generation, utilizing the Black Forest Labs Flux Ultra model. This allows for photorealistic outputs that closely align with user prompts. While preferences for image quality can vary subjectively, Le Chat has been found to produce satisfactory results during testing.
Furthermore, Le Chat offers a secure deployment option tailored for enterprises. Recognizing that businesses may have concerns about hosting sensitive financial information on external cloud servers, Mistral enables companies to deploy the chatbot locally, integrate with custom tools, and utilize specialized models. This option is part of the newly launched Le Chat Enterprise subscription, currently available in a private preview.
In addition to the Enterprise tier, Mistral has introduced two other subscription options: Pro and Team. The Pro subscription is priced at $14.99 (approximately Rs. 1,310) per month and includes access to Mistral’s top-performing models, unlimited messaging, higher rate limits, and the choice to opt out of data sharing with the company. The Team subscription targets businesses and costs $24.99 (around Rs. 2,180) per user per month.
