At the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft unveiled the Xbox-branded ROG Ally handheld devices. The two models, known as the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, are slated for release in select markets during the upcoming holiday season. A prominent games industry insider has shared insights regarding pricing, pre-order availability, and the anticipated launch timeframe for these new handhelds.
Pricing Details for ROG Xbox Ally Models
The information originates from eXtas1s, a tipster recognized for accurately leaking details about gaming hardware and software ahead of their official announcements. In a YouTube video published last Friday, the insider suggested that the standard version, ROG Xbox Ally, will carry a suggested retail price of EUR 599 (approximately Rs. 59,600) in Europe.
The premium model, ROG Xbox Ally X, is expected to be priced at EUR 899 (around Rs. 89,500) in the same market, aligning with the pricing of the Asus ROG Ally X. The tipster indicated that this information was confirmed through two different European retailers.
Pre-orders for both handheld devices are anticipated to start in August, with the official launch taking place around mid-October.

During the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, Microsoft announced that the new handhelds would be available for purchase in multiple countries including Australia, France, Japan, Singapore, the UK, the US, and 21 other markets throughout the holiday season. Additionally, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X are expected to roll out to other regions where ROG Ally products are sold, hinting at a potential launch in India down the line.
While specific pricing details were not disclosed by Microsoft, full specifications of the devices were made available. The ROG Xbox Ally will utilize an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, complemented by 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Conversely, the ROG Xbox Ally X will feature the more robust AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme, along with 24GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.
Both devices will be equipped with a 7-inch 1080p LCD display, although the Xbox Ally X will be powered by a larger 80Whr battery, compared to the 60Whr battery found in the Xbox Ally.
