Microsoft has reassured players that support for its first-party racing titles, Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Motorsport, will continue despite recent rumors surrounding the Forza franchise. Both Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games will keep adding new content to these games, following reports of layoffs affecting Turn 10 Studios last month during significant workforce reductions at the Xbox division.
Microsoft Reaffirms Commitment to Forza Games
In a message shared with the gaming community, Microsoft confirmed that both Forza franchises would persist with ongoing support from the respective development teams. Last week, the official Forza Motorsport account on X stated, “Dear Forza Community, we know many of you have questions about what’s next for the Forza franchise, and we appreciate the support of our incredible community. We wanted to assure players that Turn 10 and Playground Games will continue to support Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.”
In a recent blog post, Turn 10 Studios provided insights into upcoming content for Forza Motorsport, which was released earlier this year. The title will introduce two featured tours in its Career mode; the first is the Track Toys Tour, which is currently available, while the Ringer Tour is set to launch in September.

Although Microsoft has committed to supporting the current Forza titles, it has not provided specific details regarding the future of the series. There is no confirmation about a new Forza Motorsport title in development, nor has there been any news about the next installment of Forza Horizon, while Playground Games is also focusing on the upcoming Fable game, scheduled for release in 2026.
Turn 10 Studios, which has been at the helm of the Forza Motorsport franchise since its inception in 2005, faced challenges after layoffs and project cancellations during the cuts at Microsoft’s Gaming division last month. Following these changes, Fred Russell, a former member of Turn 10, claimed that the entire Forza Motorsport team had been dissolved and that the development of the racing simulation was effectively halted.
While some concerns lingered regarding the Forza Motorsport team, recent statements from Turn 10 have confirmed that the team is still actively working on updates for the latest game.
On a different front, Forza Horizon 5 has enjoyed remarkable success since its launch on PlayStation in April, becoming the best-selling title on the PS5 for 2025 with reported sales exceeding three million copies on the platform.
