Meta has unveiled a new suite of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities aimed at assisting businesses in automating and enhancing the creation of advertisement creatives. These innovations leverage the second and third generations of the Llama (Large Language Model Meta AI) models to enable enterprise users to effectively promote their products and services on Facebook and Instagram. The focus of this rollout is significantly on improving the image generation functionalities of the company’s AI chatbot, along with enhancements in text generation to better capture brand messaging.
In a recent announcement through a post in its Business newsroom, Meta stated, “Today, we’re launching enhanced generative AI features for advertisers, such as full image and text generation, and introducing additional tools and services to help businesses like yours grow.” The new offerings encompass features such as full image variations, text overlay, text prompts, and image expansion.
The full image variation feature permits brands to provide a reference image for the AI to work from, which may include previous creatives, product photos, or other brand visuals. Users can add a text prompt to guide variations as well. The AI will then generate multiple different versions based on the supplied image and prompts.
Meta illustrated this functionality with an example: “Imagine you are promoting your coffee bean business by advertising a steaming cup of coffee. Our generative AI will be able to create other variations of your ad creative, including scenes that depict a lush and idyllic farm, and also offer adjustments to the coffee cup to provide more creative options for you to choose from.”
Additionally, the text overlay feature enables brands to produce images that incorporate text on top, which can either be crafted by users or generated by the chatbot. The text prompts feature will assist in creating headlines and captions that align with a brand’s voice. Images featuring text overlays can be utilized in Stories or Reels, while text prompts can facilitate the composition of longer posts.
Moreover, a single generated image can be modified to meet various posting specifications. For instance, an image created for a Facebook post can be resized for use in Stories or Reels. The AI not only modifies the dimensions but can also generate supplementary backgrounds or resize the product to fit the image requirements. Meta confirmed that these enhancements will be accessible through the platform’s Ads Manager via the Advantage+ creative tool.
