LinkedIn has introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature aimed at streamlining the job search process for users. Initially launched in the United States earlier this month, the AI job search tool is now being rolled out globally, including in India. This innovative tool allows professionals to input their desired job roles using natural language, enabling them to discover relevant job opportunities. However, it is important to note that access to this feature is restricted to LinkedIn Premium subscribers.
In a recent announcement, LinkedIn detailed the new AI feature and its potential benefits for job seekers. The company referenced a survey indicating that 60 percent of professionals in Bengaluru face challenges in identifying suitable job titles and industries, even when they are open to exploring new career options.
The survey findings also revealed that one of the primary measures of career advancement for professionals is the ability to find roles that align with their skills and aspirations. Acknowledging this challenge, LinkedIn has developed an AI-driven tool designed to simplify the job search process.
The AI-enhanced job search experience enables users to describe their job preferences in straightforward language. For example, a recent graduate in software engineering could enter a query such as, “full-stack software developer jobs in Bengaluru that offer hybrid or remote work,” and the tool will generate results that align with those specific criteria.
According to LinkedIn, this new job search functionality reduces the need for traditional keyword searches, which often overlook the full context of a user’s request, leading to a plethora of unrelated job listings. The tool also alleviates the inconvenience of manually sifting through numerous pages to find appropriate vacancies. “The AI-powered job search is designed to enhance the relevance of job discovery, empowering users to make career transitions with increased confidence,” the company stated.
At present, the AI-driven job search tool is available exclusively to LinkedIn Premium subscribers, with a monthly subscription fee of Rs. 499. This plan provides various benefits, including AI tools for interview preparation and career planning.
