Sony has announced a limited edition DualSense wireless controller inspired by the acclaimed franchise, The Last of Us. Created in collaboration with Naughty Dog, this controller showcases designs that incorporate trophy icons and highlights from both The Last of Us Part I and Part II, all wrapped in a dual-tone aesthetic. The Last of Us Limited Edition controller is set to be available for purchase starting April 10, with pre-orders opening on March 14.
The controller features a striking black-and-white color scheme adorned with shiny PlayStation trophy icons, each representing memorable moments, characters, and events from the games.
Neil Druckmann, president of Naughty Dog, along with graphic designer Megan Mehran, expressed their enthusiasm in a PlayStation Blog announcement about this project. They emphasized the desire to celebrate The Last of Us franchise through a controller that resonates with fans and the development team alike. “We aimed to ensure that both titles in the series are captured by including black gloss trophy icons throughout the controller body,” they noted.
Among the trophy icons, three images are expected to resonate deeply with fans: the firefly, moth, and wolf. The Fireflies’ spray-painted logo, prominent in Part I, is coupled with the moth and wolf symbols, reflecting the complex relationship between the characters Ellie and Abby in Part II.
The Last of Us Limited Edition Controller Price and Availability
The TLOU Limited Edition controller will retail for $84.99 in the United States and £74.99 in the United Kingdom. Details regarding pricing in India will be disclosed closer to the pre-order date on March 14. It will be available for purchase on direct.playstation.com in designated regions and through select retailers starting April 10.
This new controller’s release coincides with the launch of The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC on April 3 and the premiere of the second season of The Last of Us television series on April 13.
Previously, Sony has introduced several special edition DualSense controllers to mark the release of popular first-party games, including titles such as Astro Bot, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and God of War Ragnarök.
