Neowiz Games has confirmed that the highly anticipated downloadable content (DLC) for their popular action-RPG, Lies of P, is set to release in the first quarter of 2025. The announcement, which was first made in November 2023, was reiterated by Neowiz on Friday, providing fans with an exciting update on the expansion. Additionally, the company revealed plans for a new game from Round8 Studio, the co-developer of Lies of P, which will focus on sci-fi survival horror and be available on both PC and console platforms.
Upcoming Project from Round8 Studio
The details regarding the DLC’s content and official title have not yet been disclosed. However, Neowiz’s communication, as reported by the Korean outlet EBN, did provide insight into Round8 Studio’s upcoming project. This new venture is described as a survival horror game set within a sci-fi universe. The development will utilize the advanced Unreal Engine 5, and the studio is currently on the lookout for level designers and scenario planners to contribute to the project.
A Neowiz representative mentioned, “It’s too early to reveal the progress of the project. This is one of the PC and console games that Round8 Studios is preparing,” indicating that further details will be shared in the future.
Information on Lies of P DLC
While specifics about the Lies of P DLC remain scarce, the team has provided intermittent updates throughout the development process. In a recent communication from September, Jiwon Choi, the game director, marked the one-year anniversary since the game’s launch and assured fans that work on the DLC is actively underway. The director expressed a commitment to refining the aspects that resonated with players while addressing areas for improvement.
In his message, Choi stated, “For the DLC of Lies of P and the sequel, we aim to do better on what we did well and improve in areas we have room to grow. It might sound simple, but I find that sticking to the basics is anything but easy.”
In November 2023, Neowiz officially announced that Lies of P would receive both an expansion and a separate sequel, unveiling concept art related to the upcoming DLC. This year, the game attracted significant attention, reaching a milestone of seven million players globally. A notable portion of this number likely comprises Xbox Game Pass subscribers, given the game’s availability on Microsoft’s subscription service. Lies of P successfully sold over one million copies within its first month of release and can be played across various platforms including PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PS4, and PS5.
