Embracer Group reported a significant achievement for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, announcing that the title has almost reached two million copies sold since its release. This announcement was made during the company’s third-quarter FY 2024-25 earnings call on Thursday. Launched on February 4, the medieval RPG developed by Warhorse Studios was available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X and managed to sell one million copies within just 24 hours of debuting.
Sales Milestones for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
During the earnings call, Embracer highlighted that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has greatly exceeded its initial sales projections, marking a successful launch.
In a press release, Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors expressed enthusiasm about the game’s performance, stating, “We are excited to share that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, the medieval role-playing game released just over a week ago, has been initially successful in terms of player and critic reception, as well as financial performance. This reflects the dedication and hard work of our development studio, Warhorse Studios, and our publisher, Deep Silver.”
He further noted that the game surpassed one million copies sold in its first 24 hours and is on track to reach two million, supported by impressive performance on Steam, which saw over 250,000 peak concurrent players.
Embracer, which oversees both Warhorse Studios and the title’s publisher Deep Silver, reported that the game achieved a peak player count of 256,206 on Steam, according to SteamDB. The actual player base is expected to be even larger when including console players on Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
According to Wingefors, the company anticipates continued significant revenue growth from the game in the coming years. “Warhorse Studios has a solid roadmap, with updates and new content expected over the next 12 months, ensuring an engaging and continually evolving experience for the community,” he shared.
He emphasized the importance of delivering quality products, stating, “The success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a reminder of our core mission—to bring great products to market. High-quality teams need the resources and time to execute their visions. When the right teams are in place, this trust benefits everyone, including gamers, employees, and shareholders.”
On February 5, just a day after the release, Warhorse confirmed that the game had indeed sold over one million copies. For context, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance has sold eight million copies globally since its launch in 2018, showcasing the franchise’s enduring popularity.
The narrative of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 follows Henry of Skalitz, a blacksmith’s son drawn into a broader political struggle in 15th-century Bohemia. The open-world game features intense first-person melee combat and intricate role-playing mechanics and is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
