Warhorse Studios has announced that the highly anticipated sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, will now make its debut one week earlier than originally planned. The game is set to launch on February 4, 2025, across PC, Xbox Series S/X, and PlayStation 5 platforms, moving up from the previously scheduled date of February 11. The studio also confirmed that development on KCD 2 has reached a significant milestone, commonly referred to as going gold, indicating that the game’s development is largely complete. A new trailer, along with technical specifications for various platforms, is expected to be released on Thursday.
KCD 2 New Launch Date
In a video update shared on X on Wednesday, Warhorse revealed the updated release date. “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will now officially release on February 4, 2025,” stated Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, the global PR manager for Warhorse. He further added, “And why, you might ask? Simple, so you can start 2025 with the best game there is.”
The decision to advance the launch date appears to be a strategic move, likely aimed at providing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with more space in a competitive release schedule for February 2025. This month is gearing up to host several significant game releases, including Civilization VII on February 11, Assassin’s Creed Shadows on February 14, Avowed on February 18, and Monster Hunter Wilds on February 28, among others.

In the same update, Stolz-Zwilling highlighted that the game is nearing its final stages. “KCD 2 is also gold now… it means that the game is more or less finished. We are right now in the last stretches of optimizations and bug fixing,” he noted.
Additionally, Warhorse plans to unveil a new story trailer along with the specifications for PC and console versions of the game on Thursday. It has been confirmed that the RPG will feature enhancements for the PS5 Pro, as well as Quality and Performance modes on Xbox Series X and PS5, prioritizing visual quality and framerate respectively.
First announced in April 2024 with a debut trailer and initial plans for a 2024 release, the launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was subsequently pushed back to February 11 following an announcement in August.
This sequel to the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance released in 2018, will continue the narrative of protagonist Henry amidst the tumultuous backdrop of 15th-century central Europe. According to a press release from Warhorse’s parent company, Plaion, “In this gripping sequel, players will traverse a meticulously crafted medieval landscape, from the humble confines of a blacksmith’s forge to the grandeur of royal courts, all while navigating the treacherous currents of a kingdom torn apart by civil war.”
