Baba Black Sheep Games, an independent game developer based in India, has revealed their upcoming rhythm-centric cricket game titled Bat to the Beat, set to be released on PC via Steam later this year. Currently, a demo version of the game is available on the platform for players to try.

Announcement of Bat to the Beat

On Wednesday, the developer unveiled a trailer that highlighted the game’s unique blend of cricket and rhythm gameplay. Players will traverse various cricketing locations, utilizing distinctive local beats that span influences from “one-drop reggae in Jamaica to rhythm patterns inspired by Bollywood,” according to a press release from the studio.

Bat to the Beat draws creative cues from well-known rhythm games such as Crypt of the NecroDancer, Rhythm Heaven Fever, and Super Hexagon. This title is being developed by Kunal Joshi under the Baba Black Sheep Games label.

The game is currently available for wishlist on Steam, alongside its demo. The demo offers a preview of the gameplay experience, while the full game is expected to introduce additional levels and music selections.

Players will need to exhibit rhythm and spatial awareness skills, with quick decision-making required to either execute daring shots or defend at each beat. Developed using the Unity engine, the game supports controllers and features an original soundtrack to enhance the gaming experience.

The developer has also provided system requirements for both Windows and macOS users. Although a specific release date has not yet been announced, Bat to the Beat is confirmed to launch on Steam later in the year.
