Infinix has announced the upcoming release of its Android 15-based XOS 15 update for the Infinix Note 40 series. The Chinese technology company introduced its customized version of Android 15 last month, with the Note 50 series smartphones being the initial devices to feature the new XOS 15.
The Transsion Holdings subsidiary revealed the news through its global X handle, stating that the rollout for the Infinix Note 40 series would begin this quarter (Q2). The models confirmed to receive the XOS 15 update include the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G, Note 40 Pro 5G, Note 40 Pro, Note 40 5G, Note 40, and Note 40s.
The update will be distributed in phases, meaning that it may take time for it to arrive on all eligible devices. Infinix also indicated that more specific timelines for each model’s upgrade would be shared later, although some countries may not support this update.
All devices in the Infinix Note 40 series were originally launched with the Android 14-based XOS 14 interface. With the introduction of XOS 15 last month, the Infinix Note 50X 5G became the first smartphone to feature this new interface at launch in India. The Infinix Note 50s 5G+, set to be unveiled later this week, will also include this latest custom skin.
XOS 15 boasts a redesigned user interface, complete with customizable animations and font styles. It offers a Game Mode designed to enhance gaming performance and settings, along with the Vogue Portraits feature for personalizing wallpapers. The update introduces a Dynamic Bar that supports Google Maps, Smart Panel, and PC Connection functionalities. Moreover, users will benefit from One-Tap Infinix AI capabilities and several AI-driven features, including On-Screen Awareness, AI Wallpaper Generator, AI Note, Circle to Search, Writing Assistant, and Infinix’s AI assistant, Folax. Additionally, a new AIGC Portrait Mode allows users to generate fun avatars in various scenarios and templates in real time.
