The highly anticipated game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, developed by Microsoft’s MachineGames, will be making its debut on the PlayStation 5. The action-adventure title has established a release date for Xbox and PC during the Gamescom opening night showcase held on Tuesday, followed by the announcement of a PS5 launch set for next year. It will officially release on Xbox Series S/X, PC, and Game Pass on December 9, with its PlayStation 5 version set to follow in Spring 2025, according to Bethesda.
Release Date for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Revealed
The opening night event at Gamescom featured a new trailer that showcased gameplay elements including puzzles, whip combat, and more, while also confirming the game’s launch date. Originally expected in 2024, the action-adventure game’s new trailer additionally declared the PS5 release for Spring 2025 after a phase of timed exclusivity on Xbox consoles.
“We want everybody to be able to enjoy this adventure. That is why we are delighted to bring Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to PlayStation 5 players next Spring 2025,” stated game director Jerk Gustafsson in a video shared on Bethesda’s social media platforms.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Coming to PS5
This title, as a first-party offering from Microsoft and developed by MachineGames, was initially thought to be exclusive to Xbox and PC. However, earlier in the week, an industry insider indicated plans for a PS5 release in the first half of 2025.
Discussions about the possibility of a PS5 launch for the Indiana Jones game emerged last February. At that time, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer had clarified that the game would not be included among four Xbox exclusive titles slated for release on competitor platforms from Sony and Nintendo. Despite this, Spencer did not rule out the possibility of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle or other Microsoft titles eventually being available on PS5.
In addition to the confirmed dates for Xbox and PC releases, Bethesda also shared pre-order information for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Tuesday. The game will be offered in Standard, Premium, and Collector’s editions, all of which are available for pre-order on Xbox and Steam. Those who opt for the Premium and Collector’s editions will have the chance to enjoy up to three days of early access. The game is also available to wishlist on the PlayStation Store.
