Huawei Launches Nova 14 Series with Impressive Specs

On Monday, Huawei unveiled its latest lineup of smartphones in China, introducing the Nova 14 Ultra, Nova 14 Pro, and Nova 14 models. These new devices operate on HarmonyOS 5.0 and feature substantial 5,500mAh battery units that are capable of 100W fast charging. Notably, both the Nova 14 Ultra and Pro are equipped with a 50-megapixel RYYB variable aperture primary camera, complemented by dual front-facing cameras. A distinguishing feature of the Huawei Nova 14 Ultra is its advanced 50-megapixel RYYB periscope telephoto sensor. Additionally, the Ultra variant boasts an IP68+IP69 rating for exceptional dust and water resistance, while the Nova 14 Pro and Nova 14 hold an IP65 rating.

Pricing for Huawei Nova 14 Ultra

The Huawei Nova 14 Ultra is priced at CNY 4,199 (approximately Rs. 49,000) for the 256GB storage variant. For larger storage options, the 512GB model is available for CNY 4,499 (around Rs. 53,000) and the 1TB version for CNY 4,999 (about Rs. 59,000). Customers can choose from various colors including Floating Light Gold, Floating Light White, Flowing Light Purple, and Radiant Gold Black.

The Huawei Nova 14 Pro is available at CNY 3,499 (approximately Rs. 41,000) for the 256GB variant, with the 512GB model priced at CNY 3,799 (around Rs. 44,000). It comes in Ice Crystal Blue, Ice Crystal Pink, Frost White, and Feather Sand Black.

For the Huawei Nova 14, prices start at CNY 2,699 (approximately Rs. 32,000) for the 256GB model and CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 35,000) for the 512GB storage option, available in Ice Blue, Frost White, and Feather Sand Black.

All three models are currently available for purchase in China through Vmall, including the 512GB versions of Nova 14 and Nova 14 Pro with Kunlun Glass coating, priced at CNY 3,199 (approximately Rs. 37,000) and CNY 3,999 (around Rs. 47,000), respectively.

Specifications of Huawei Nova 14 Ultra

The dual-SIM (Nano) Huawei Nova 14 Ultra operates on HarmonyOS 5.0, featuring a 6.81-inch full-HD+ (1,272×2,860 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. The screen is safeguarded by Kunlun glass. Although Huawei has not officially confirmed the processor, it is expected to incorporate a Kirin 9-series chipset.

In terms of photography, the Nova 14 Ultra sports a quad rear camera system led by a 50-megapixel RYYB sensor with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0 and optical image stabilization (OIS). The setup also features a 50-megapixel RYYB periscope telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom and a 13-megapixel RYYB ultrawide angle camera, along with a 1.5-megapixel multispectral color sensor.

The front-facing camera features a dual setup: a 50-megapixel sensor with 2x optical zoom and an 8-megapixel sensor with 5x zoom, both benefiting from AI enhancements.

Connectivity options for the Huawei Nova 14 Ultra include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, BeiDou, Galileo, Navic, GPS, AGPS, QZSS, Glonass, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The device also incorporates various sensors, including an ambient light sensor, color temperature sensor, compass, flicker sensor, gyroscope, gravity sensor, infrared sensor, and proximity light sensor. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is available for authentication. The phone is IP68+IP69 rated for protection and offers satellite connectivity.

With a 5,500mAh battery capable of 100W fast charging, the device measures 163.4×75.6×7.78mm and weighs 204 grams.

Specifications for Huawei Nova 14 Pro and Huawei Nova 14

The Huawei Nova 14 Pro and Nova 14 models retain the same dual SIM and operating system features as the Ultra version. The Nova 14 Pro has a slightly larger 6.78-inch display, while the vanilla model features a 6.7-inch screen. Both devices come with full-HD+ (1,224×2,700 pixels) LTPO AMOLED displays supporting up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and 300Hz touch sampling rate. Additionally, they are protected by Aluminosilicate glass.

The Nova 14 Pro’s quad rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel RYYB sensor with variable aperture and OIS, a 12-megapixel RYYB telephoto portrait sensor also with OIS, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro lens. It shares the same front camera configuration as the Nova 14 Ultra.

In contrast, the Huawei Nova 14 features a triple rear camera setup composed of a 50-megapixel RYYB sensor, a 12-megapixel RYYB telephoto portrait sensor with OIS, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro lens, paired with a single 50-megapixel selfie camera.

The sensors and connectivity features on the Nova 14 Pro and Nova 14 closely resemble those found in the Nova 14 Ultra. However, the former two models are specified with an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance. Both models are powered by the same 5,500mAh battery with 100W charging support.

The Huawei Nova 14 Pro measures 163.4×75.0x7.68mm and weighs 204 grams, while the Huawei Nova 14 measures 161.7×75.48×7.18mm and weighs 192 grams.
