Guerilla Games’ expansive action-adventure game, Horizon Forbidden West, is set to make its debut on PC. PlayStation revealed last week that the Complete Edition, which features the Burning Shores expansion released in 2023, will be available for PC users starting on March 21. The transition to PC will be managed by Nixxes Software, a studio owned by Sony, recognized for its previous work on PC adaptations of other major PlayStation titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. This upcoming PC version follows the original launch of the game on PS4 and PS5 two years ago, aligning with the company’s trend of releasing exclusive titles on PC after a period of time.
The announcement was made in a PlayStation blog post published on January 25, where Nixxes disclosed new features and pre-order information for the Complete Edition of Horizon Forbidden West. Players can expect unlocked frame rates, customizable graphics settings, and support for technologies such as Nvidia DLSS 3 for upscaling and frame generation, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS, all aimed at improving gameplay performance. The post also highlighted that high-end players would have access to NVIDIA DLAA for image enhancement and that the game utilizes DirectStorage for faster loading times on PC.
Moreover, the PC version of Horizon Forbidden West will accommodate ultra-wide screen resolutions, including 21:9 ultra-wide and 32:9 super ultra-wide formats, along with compatibility for ultra-wide setups stretching to 48:9 across three monitors. Players can fully customize their mouse and keyboard controls, in addition to utilizing controllers. Notably, the PlayStation DualSense controller will feature adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, promising a more immersive gaming experience.
In addition to the base game, the Complete Edition will include exclusive bonus content on PC, such as extra outfits, weapons, and in-game resource packs, among other rewards. Nixxes also indicated that information regarding the game’s system requirements for PC will be forthcoming in the near future.
Pre-orders for Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition on PC are currently available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with the pricing set at Rs. 3,999.
This Complete Edition originally launched on October 6, 2023, for the PS5. As of April 16 last year, developers at Guerilla Games reported that the game had achieved impressive sales figures, having moved 8.4 million copies across both the PS4 and PS5 platforms.
