The Honor Magic V5 is reportedly in development, poised to succeed the Magic V3. While the company has not officially announced the device’s release, recent leaks from China suggest potential specifications and a timeline for its launch. The upcoming foldable phone is rumored to house a substantial battery, potentially the largest in the foldable category, and is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The device may boast an 8-inch folding display alongside a 6.45-inch cover screen.
Several tipsters from China, including Smart Pikachu and Guan, have indicated that the Honor Magic V5 could debut in China toward the end of June. It is expected to be unveiled in conjunction with the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, along with a variety of new Honor earphones, tablets, and additional gadgets.
In a related conversation on Weibo, a user known as Panda is Very Bald (translated from Chinese) mentioned that the Honor Magic V5 is expected to feature a battery with a 100mAh increase over the Vivo X Fold 5, which is rumored to have a 6,000mAh battery. If accurate, this would mean the Honor Magic V5 is set to include a 6,100mAh battery.
An alleged 3C certification listing for the Honor Magic V5 recently hinted at a 6,100mAh battery capacity and support for 66W wired fast charging. By comparison, the Magic V3 is equipped with a 5,150mAh battery, also supporting 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Speculation suggests that the Honor Magic V5 will feature a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED cover screen and an 8-inch 2K internal display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will launch with Android 15 based Magic 9.0.
Honor executive Li Kun has stated that the Magic V5 will have a sleek build. The device is also likely to feature an IPX8 water resistance rating and come equipped with a 50-megapixel main rear camera with optical image stabilization, an ultra-wide camera, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, it is expected to include a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
