Google has announced that its Gemini Live feature, which allows users to see and interact with their camera and screen content, will be freely accessible to all Android users through the Gemini app.

This AI-driven functionality was initially introduced earlier this month for users of Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S25 devices utilizing the Gemini app. While Google previously indicated that it would soon be available more widely for Android users, it planned to restrict access to those with a Gemini Advanced subscription. The company has since opted to provide this feature at no cost.

“We’ve received fantastic feedback on Gemini Live with camera and screen share, prompting us to extend this feature to a broader audience,” Google’s announcement on X stated.

The rollout for the Gemini app will commence today, gradually becoming available to all Android users over the next several weeks. For a preview of how the feature operates, interested users can view this demonstration video from Google, which showcases the app in action as someone uses it at an aquarium to identify various sea creatures.

In a related development, Microsoft has also rolled out its competing AI feature, Copilot Vision, now available for free within the Edge browser.
