Google has announced the launch of its Search Live feature for users across the United States, enabling a conversational approach to information retrieval with an AI assistant. This new capability allows users to ask questions and receive real-time answers while also providing relevant web links.
To access the feature, users can open the Google app on both Android and iOS devices and tap the new “Live” button located below the search bar. This allows them to voice their questions or utilize their device’s camera to enhance their searches based on visual input. Additionally, a new Search Live icon can be found in the Lens app, facilitating a dynamic conversation while sharing live camera feeds.
Previously, Search Live was only available through a limited beta version in Google Labs and is currently accessible in English only.
An example highlighted by Google shows how users can leverage Search Live for practical tasks, such as learning to prepare matcha. By showing the necessary tools to the assistant and inquiring about their uses, users can receive tailored guidance. Similarly, when setting up new electronics, users can ask specific questions, such as where a particular cable connects, simply by pointing their camera at it.
