Google has announced the introduction of Daily Listen, an experimental artificial intelligence (AI) feature that generates podcast-style audio summaries based on users’ Discover feeds. Currently, this feature is accessible through the Android and iOS versions of the Google app in select regions. To utilize Daily Listen, users must enroll in Google’s Search Labs and enable the feature.
Limited Launch of Google’s Daily Listen Feature
According to a report from 9to5Google, the AI-based feature was made available to a limited number of users starting Wednesday. Daily Listen can be accessed through the Google app on Android and iOS devices, but its rollout seems to be restricted to a single country. Currently, beta testers in the US can explore the feature, although its availability in other regions remains uncertain.
Other sources have confirmed the existence of the feature; however, staff members at Gadgets 360 could not locate Daily Listen within the app or Search Labs despite their participation in the beta program. As of now, it appears the feature is not accessible in India.

This feature employs data harvested from users’ Discover feeds and search patterns to gauge the news topics they may find engaging. It is designed to generate a daily summary of top news stories aligned with these interests and convert the text into an audio format reminiscent of a podcast. Users do not need to provide any input for this process, as the AI autonomously handles content generation.
Moreover, a complete transcript of the audio segment is displayed on the screen, allowing users to read along as they listen. The interface also includes links to related news articles, offering further context on the topics discussed. However, since this is an experimental feature, the AI’s accuracy in selecting relevant topics and articles may vary.
