The anticipated action-adventure game Ghost of Yotei, developed by Sucker Punch, is set to showcase its gameplay in an in-depth presentation this week. Sony announced on Tuesday that a dedicated State of Play livestream will air on July 10, offering an extended preview of the upcoming PS5 exclusive. Viewers can expect insights into the game’s narrative and environment, along with glimpses of new weaponry, gameplay modes, and additional features.
State of Play Set for Ghost of Yotei
The upcoming livestream will provide nearly 20 minutes of gameplay footage, allowing players to experience the game’s visuals, combat mechanics, and exploration elements. Ghost of Yotei’s creative directors, Jason Connell and Nate Fox, will host the presentation, as confirmed by a PlayStation Blog post.
Sucker Punch commented, “In addition to sharing details about Atsu’s quest for vengeance, we’re eager to present her new arsenal, customizable gameplay options set along the coast of Japan, various special modes, and much more,” emphasizing their excitement about the upcoming showcase.
The Ghost of Yotei State of Play will be available for viewing on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels on July 10 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 10 PM BST / 11 PM CEST (June 11 at 2:30 AM IST in India). Fans can tune in to watch the live broadcast through the embedded video below:
Ghost of Yotei follows 2020’s successful title Ghost of Tsushima and was initially announced during a State of Play livestream in September 2024. This new installment introduces players to Atsu, the protagonist, who embarks on a quest for vengeance in the regions surrounding Mount Yōtei in Ezo, Hokkaido. The game takes place in 1603, over 300 years after the events of its predecessor.
In April, Sucker Punch released a new trailer, offering further insights into Atsu and her vengeful journey. Ghost of Yotei is currently available for pre-order in several editions, including a Standard Edition, a Digital Deluxe version, and a Collector’s Edition. The game is set to launch exclusively on PS5 on October 2.
