The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which debuted in January this year, features a quad rear camera system. Anticipation is already building for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, expected to launch around the same time next year. Early reports suggest notable changes, including a revised rear camera configuration and a larger battery. The new model is likely to continue with the impressive 200-megapixel primary rear camera found in its predecessor.

Galaxy S26 Ultra to Feature Altered Camera Setup

According to a source on X, user God (@Vhsss_God), the Galaxy S26 Ultra is currently undergoing testing with a streamlined rear camera system comprising three sensors. This prototype reportedly includes a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a sophisticated 200-megapixel telephoto sensor with 4x optical zoom. Speculation indicates that the upcoming flagship may omit two telephoto sensors present in the current model, potentially reintroducing the variable aperture feature with the main sensor.

For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra features a comprehensive quad camera setup that includes a 200-megapixel primary lens, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 20-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a second telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom.

In addition to changes in the camera, the Galaxy S26 Ultra prototype is rumored to come equipped with a new S Pen that includes Bluetooth capabilities, a feature that was removed from the S25 Ultra. The current S Pen does not support Bluetooth functionality.

Moreover, Samsung may be integrating innovative stacked battery technology into the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with a battery capacity reportedly exceeding 5,500mAh, a notable upgrade from the existing model’s 5,000mAh battery.

Though the Galaxy S26 series is still several months away from its official reveal, buzz about its specifications is already circulating. Samsung is reportedly experimenting with an Under Display Camera (UDC) for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This would mark a significant milestone as the brand’s first bar-type smartphone featuring the latest Colour Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology, aimed at enhancing power efficiency and light transmittance. Potentially, the device may be powered by Qualcomm’s next flagship Snapdragon processor.

The upcoming lineup is anticipated to include 65W wired fast charging capabilities. Additionally, reports suggest that the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ may be equipped with Samsung’s proprietary Exynos chips.
