The anticipated unveiling of the iPhone 17 lineup is just a few months away. This year, the collection is projected to include four models, introducing a new variant known as the iPhone 17 Air. Notably, the standard iPhone 17 is expected to feature a significant display upgrade, boasting a larger 6.27-inch panel in contrast to the 6.1-inch display of its predecessor, the iPhone 16. Recently, a well-known case manufacturer inadvertently backed this claim by listing a screen protector believed to be compatible with the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 17, and iPhone 17 Pro.
According to GSMArena, an accidental listing on Amazon India showcased Spigen’s popular EZ Fit Tempered Glass Screen Protector as compatible with the aforementioned models. The listing, now removed, could imply that both the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro will feature the same 6.3-inch display as the iPhone 16 Pro, marking an improvement over the 6.12-inch display found on the iPhone 16.
Support for these display upgrades has also emerged from various sources, including analyst Ross Young from DSCC, enhancing the credibility of the speculation. The standard iPhone 17 is anticipated to utilize an LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, akin to the iPhone 16 Pro. However, it appears that advanced features like the always-on display may be reserved for the Pro models.
In comparison, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have a refresh rate set at 60Hz, while the Pro variants, including the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, support a higher refresh rate of 120Hz.
iPhone 17 Series: Anticipated Features
The iPhone 17 series is expected to debut in September, coinciding with the release of the iPhone 17 Air, as well as the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Air will feature a 6.5-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max may maintain its size at 6.9 inches. Non-Pro models are likely to be equipped with A18 or A19 chipsets and 8GB of RAM, whereas the iPhone 17 Pro models are poised to debut with the A19 Pro chipset and 12GB of RAM.
Additionally, Apple is rumored to introduce the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air in new color options, including shades of green and purple.
