Elon Musk, who has recently rebranded Twitter as X, is generating buzz with a new feature on the platform. On Friday, he shared a live video showcasing the platform’s capabilities, which attracted an impressive 4.9 million viewers. In a subsequent tweet, Musk confirmed the launch of the live video feature, which allows users to broadcast live content with the blue camera icon.
The announcement quickly garnered over 3.5 million views and more than 40,000 engagements within the first couple of hours after it was posted.
This update follows a brief 53-second live appearance by Musk on X the previous night, during which he was joined by members of his team. At that time, he did not provide any details about the new functionality.
In response to a user inquiry, Musk indicated that the live video feature will undergo further improvements.
Musk continues to take an active role in reshaping X, serving as the platform’s chief of product and engineering.
On July 23, he announced the transition of Twitter’s iconic blue bird logo to a minimalist X, along with a change in its name and web address. These updates were rapidly implemented across X’s iOS, Android, and web interfaces.
Musk’s ongoing initiatives include monetizing verification ticks on the platform and consistently introducing new features, all part of his vision to transform X into an all-encompassing application.
In a recent update, Musk also noted that monthly active users have surged to a record high of 540 million on the platform.
